A beach wedding in their native

The lovely duo chose their native Israel for their big day. They exchanged their wedding vows on the 13th of September, 2021 after more than two years of togetherness.

Their marriage was attended by 400 guests including their friends and family.

The reason behind choosing Al Hayam in Sdot Yam, Israel was their roots as Lavi stated ”We’re both Israeli and very connected to our roots. Our family lives here and we were raised by the Mediterranean, which made us who we are today”.

The idea of getting married on a beachside was inspired by Burning Man. The theme was “Tulum meets a really good cocktail”.

Since they met at Burning Man, they wanted their wedding to emulate the feeling of a free-flow festival said Lavi.

The couple had a chuppah on the sand rather than in the actual venue because they wanted it to be a bit traditional, and a bit untraditional and also had a traditional henna ceremony with a Moroccan drum circle and costumes later in the night as a nod to Lavi’s Moroccan heritage.

When did Lavi fall for acting?

Lavi fell for acting at a young age. As a child, she would be forced to spend 45 minutes a night with an inhaler because of asthma.

During that time, she would spend her time watching movies with her dad and eventually fell in love with cinema.

She felt magical thinking about the power it holds in thinking someone from their reality and transporting them into a new one.

She also aspired to be able to do that for someone one day.

Also, she grew up in a house where her parents didn’t get along and there was a lot of fighting, and the only times they would sort of stay calm was when she would perform in front of her parents.

She would dance, sing, and tell imaginary stories to them. “It’s funny how life ends up giving you what you manifested”, Lavi said in an interview.

A legacy Lexi wishes she could leave to her kids

Lavi was 17 when she moved to New York City with a dream of becoming an actress.

She spent eight months performing various off-Broadway productions before moving to Los Angeles.

Her first gig was as the lead in the movie ”Tale of an Ancient Empire” where she portrayed Alana, a warrior princess.

While talking about the price of working in Hollywood, Lavi shared that for many years, her career was sitting in the driver’s seat and leading her, no matter the cost and sacrifice she had to make.

It didn’t matter to her whether she was healthy, happy, or felt good. The only thing that mattered was to reach the goal.

“It’s a very demanding profession. It makes you pay a certain price, a price you feel you paid. You get a lot of rejections. You are not good enough, or strong enough and the schedule is also demanding. You work endlessly, and you wake up every day in a foreign country until you remember your name anymore. In a flash, the years go by and you wonder where the time went”, she said.

But now, she has made her happiness a bigger priority and is trying to do what is good for her and the people around her that she loves.

“I try to live her life more than try to live her dream”, she said.

Having said that, she added that she doesn’t feel like she has sacrificed or messed up too much but for now, it’s very important for her to be healthy mentally which for a long time wasn’t her priority.

Lavi says she was able to build her career but there are a lot more films she wants to act in, a lot of TV and theater.

What she cares about most nowadays is working with people who challenge her and provide a unique experience she hasn’t seen in herself before.

She would like to do something that she could be proud of, something she could leave to her kids and that will be her legacy.
